My Fitting unfortunately isn't with a Titleist specific fitter, but they have been the fitter that I've been going to for the last 6 years. The Fitter that I'm going to is going to put me in a few different manufacturers drivers just to see the difference between them, but he said the most important thing is to match me with the right shaft. He said that without the right shaft it won't matter what driver I hit it won't improve my game. I'm relying on his expertise on this. Luckily, I have few options for possibly getting pulled shaft that's in great condition from a few people I know. My game has changed since my 2 meniscus surgeries, so I know my current setup is not right for me. Excited to see what comes from my fitting.

Forum Post: Breezer Bucket

As I grew older and started visiting my dermatologist, I started wearing the Tour Aussie hats. Love them and has helped me avoid any unnecessary procedures. Have a large collection of them. Thought I would try the Breezer Bucket hats and have found a new friend for this humiture, May thru September in S Carolina. Very lightweight, cool and covers the ears and face very well. One size fits all. I normally wear size 8 and they stretch well enough to fit this pumpkin head. Thought I would give a shout out for this product. Do recommend covering up. Will be 80 in a few months, still melanoma free and keeping my dermatologist happy. After the last 2 days, they will be staying put in the bag. After several sessions in the range, I realized they were waiting for the golfer who bought the sticks to show up. Yesterday in our men's league kickoff scramble, I won 2 closest to the pin par 3s, 8i and 6i, with a combined distance of 6 ft. Today I happily posted my career low round of an even par 71. It only took 56 years of playing this great sport, but persistence is an inherited trait from my dear departed father. In the words of the late great Jimmy V., "Don't give up. Curious if there are days of the week with better odds on getting lucky. If there 20 slots a day and the pool ran from 25 to 80, I’d shoot for the 20 of 25 day. I was led to believe lottery entry from The Old Course Hotel entrants were luckier than others. At least when I stayed at the Hotel, they handled submitting my name and I got on. That was 2018. The world changed after COVID. [/quote] I have been successful in the 48hr 2+ person ballot twice now, in 2018 and last year, 2025. 2018 was in April so def not peak season, can't recall the day, but last year we stayed in StA for a week during July. We'd heard Thursdays and Saturdays were generally your best chance. We were successful as a two on the Thursday and another of our party selected as a single on the Saturday, so it seemed to ring true. I was #11 on the singles draw on the Wednesday, thought I may have had a chance, but only got down to 6. The starters did make the comment in the morning that there were quite a few tour companies booked in that day so they felt the chances were low. Not sure re: the Old Course Hotel having some sway in the ballot selection, doesn't hurt to know people... ;) Currently, the 48 hour ballot is online and can only be entered as a group of 2/3/4. No singles. The single ballot must be entered in person at either the starters hut or the new Club House, and they take a picture upon entering, so you can't enter for someone else. Was interesting being No.11 and just hanging out at the hut for an hour or so to get an understanding of likelihood for the day, the No. of people that just turned up seeing if there were any spots, trying to sweet talk the starters and even wanting to pay whatever for a round. The starters were very professional in their dealings. :)

Forum Post: First hole in one

Playing today with 4 good friends at Thunderhawk Golf Course in Beach Park, IL. Ask at your fitting if that is an option. With a $200 markdown, it is one of the best bargains out there. Coming from a 907 without hosel adjustments any will be an improvement. Not to mention if you’ve owned this 20 year old driver for over 6 years, your swing has likely changed in that time. There are a lot of good drivers in the T series (TS, TSi, TSR) and GT line, but getting the best model, loft, and shaft for your swing will be more hit and miss. If you can get to a large retailer with a good volume of used clubs, they can best match you. For that, you may need to travel to LA or SD for that option. There are online stores like 2nd Swing and Global Golf that let you try for 30 days and let you apply the fee minus a small restocking fee to another club. Those do offer online consultations. The GTS will be at least $650 new, for comparison.

Forum Post: RE: Hole in one on my birthday

NICE!!!
